If you have read some of my other posts you might have seen where I said I was having to take four math classes. πŸ™„

This includes:

  • a course on the content children learn and how to do it
  • two methods classes
  • and a class where I actually go to a school and teach math to the children (practicum).

I am so nervous to be taking all of these at once!!! It’s what I have to do to graduate on time, though. My advisor said it should all work out, and, as of now, it’s really not as hard as it sounds. I’m terrified to have to do Lit Block next quarter… (Everyone who has taken it already says it is horrible… Like projects due every single day and stuff. We’ll see…….)

That’s just some background. This is what I really want to talk about. I just found out the teacher for the class I will be observing for my practicum class. I actually get to do this in my hometown instead of where I attend college. I am so excited to start. UNFORTUNATELY, I have to wait until January 9th (when the school gets back from Christmas break) to actually get to visit the school and meet the kiddos.

I originally wanted a 2nd grade classroom, but I got a 3rd, which is actually even better since I think I might want to teach 3rd instead. I’ll get to get a feel for it! 😊

I am still so new to teaching. I am kind of nervous as to what this experience is going to be like. I hope the children aren’t too mean to me… πŸ˜‚Β I am a tiny person so hopefully they’re not too tall yet, either. If they’re taller than me they’re gonna think they don’t have to listen to me. Haha. At least that’s how I think.

But earlier this week I did have to do a center that children could complete, and I did a cute little snowman game that teaches counting.

You just have the child pull a hat and place it on the snowman’s head and then place the corresponding number of buttons on his torso. I love this so much!

I used some foam I got from Walmart and just cut it out. I also got the little buttons from there. I’ve had this bucket, but I got it from Dollar Tree.

This is what my life consists of right now… Although I get out Monday for break and I’ll be out until January 3rd, so. YAY!

      1. Anything from circuit repairs in electronics. Planing out new circuits/overseeing engineering designs for anything electronic/computers.
Figuring out solutions to unique situations in industrial or semi-industrial to even local and private needs. Reverse engineering electronics for competitors (That’s what I used to do) basically take stuff apart and write down how it works.

        1. Wow, sounds sorta complicated! But awesome! 🀘🏻 Woot woot!
